“Family Reunions” at South Plains Leatherfest-International Master/slave Weekend
We know that for many of our South Plains family, the weekend is a time not only to be with their extended leather family, but also to enjoy smaller “family reunions” with different people and parts of the community they may only see once or twice a year. To facilitate these reunions, this year, South Plains is offering access to the hotel’s hospitality suite to a limited number of groups, events or individuals who would like to host their own hospitality reception – or as we like to call it, a “Family Reunion.”
If you are interested in sponsoring a family reunion at South Plains, please read all of the following material and then contact us as described in the section, “Reserving your time slot for your family reunion.”
Location
All South Plains Family Reunions will be held in “The View” on the 12th floor of the host hotel. The View is a comfortable lounge area with several small tables and chairs, as well as seating arrangements of upholstered chairs. A small wet bar/kitchen with a microwave and small refrigerator are in the room. We will provide one standard 6’ table for your use in addition to what is already in the room. The room can comfortably hold approximately 100 standing people at a time – if they’re willing to be really friendly!
Cost
There is no cost for holding a Family Reunion at South Plains. However, if you or your group would like to make a donation in any amount to the International Master/slave Travel Fund, that would be greatly appreciated. Please let slave marsha know if you’d like to make a donation (southplainsleatherfest@gmail.com).
Time Slots
Family Reunion time slots are 2 hours each. You should plan to use the first 30 minutes of your time slot for set up and the last 30 minutes for clean up, which gives you about an hour for your Reunion. Please see the section “Reunion Times” below for specific time slots.
Family Reunion Rules
- Please remember that there are other guests in the hotel and keep the noise to an appropriate level.
- Only registered attendees of South Plains may host, set up/work in or attend a Family Reunion in The View.
- No SM, sex or nudity may take place at a Family Reunion held in The View.
- No smoking.
- No alcohol may be served. You are welcome to bring in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
- You will need to provide your own volunteers to work at your Reunion, and they must be registered attendees of South Plains. Time spent working at a Reunion will not count toward the hours needed to receive a volunteer registration for South Plains. We will provide you with a door monitor to insure all guests are registered attendees of South Plains.
- Please be respectful of the hotel property and clean up after your Reunion.
Food
If you would like to order food or beverage from the hotel for your Reunion, please contact the Owners of South Plains at southplainsleatherfest@gmail.com. Please do not go directly to the hotel to order any food. Alternatively, you may bring in food and beverage (no alcohol) for your Reunion. The View has a very small wet bar/kitchen with a small microwave and a small refrigerator – please keep that in mind if you plan to provide food. You are responsible for providing all plates, napkins, utensils, cups, ice, etc. You are also responsible for all clean up, including the removal of all unused food items.
Advertising Your Family Reunion
You are welcome to keep your Reunion limited to those you choose to invite, as long as they are registered attendees of South Plains. If your Reunion is “private,” you are responsible for inviting your guests.
If you would like to open your Reunion to all or an identified portion of South Plains’ attendees (for example, members of a certain club or those attending from a particular geographic area), we will list your Reunion in the South Plains program. If you would like your Reunion listed, you will need to send the name of your Reunion, who is hosting it and a brief description to us at southplainsleatherfest@gmail.com no later than January 6, 2012. (Please note: this is a hard deadline. A Reunion cannot be included in the program if it is received after this date.) We also welcome run packet inserts/flyers about your Reunion. In order to have these included in our run packets, please send 600 pieces to SPL Enterprises, 22136 Westheimer Parkway #202, Katy, TX 77450 no later than February 15, 2012.Reserving Your Time Slot For Your Family Reunion

Play Parties are a highlight of the South Plains weekend, so make your plans – and play dates – now!
Play Parties will be held on Friday and Saturday nights from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. As always, the on-site play space will feature separate pansexual, men only (on Friday) and women only space. Admission to the parties is sold as a package, rather than as individual party tickets. A play party admission package – which entitles you to both of South Plains’ play parties – is only $25.00.
PLEASE NOTE: Entrance to the play parties will only be sold as a package – no individual party tickets will be sold and no play party packages will be sold at the parties.
You must be registered for South Plains in order to purchase a play party package – no exceptions. At event registration you will be required to sign a waiver and show an official government ID with the legal name under which you are registered in order to obtain the wrist band that will admit you to both the event and the play parties.
Space is limited, so buy your play party package online now! If space remains at the time of the event, play party packages will be sold to registered South Plains attendees during registration hours, but absolutely no packages will be sold at the door of the play space.
Year after year, attendees tell us the thing they like best about South Plains is the opportunity to be with old friends and to make new ones. And what better way is there to come home to family and friends than to share a meal with them? In 2012, South Plains is giving attendees an opportunity to do just that by offering a buffet lunch on Saturday at the South Plains Café.
The South Plains Café will be open from 12:30-2:00 Saturday. The buffet will offer selections for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. There's no formal program -- just a time to visit with family and friends over a lunch that isn't handed to you from a drive-through window!
And at the South Plains Cafe, you can do good while eating well!! Tickets for the Cafe are $25.00 per person but because South Plains and Sponsors are subsidizing the cost of the lunch, $15 of each ticket purchased will go directly to the International Master/slave Travel fund.
Tickets for South Plains Café lunch must be purchased on-line in advance through South Plains' on line registration system. Seating is limited and this will be a sell-out, so help us begin a tradition and join us!
What’s South Plains without a cruise or three? On Friday night everyone is welcome to come on down to the South Plains Cruise. The setting will recall bar gatherings of the past and we'll kick off the weekend – greeting friends, making new ones, buying drinks, and meeting our judges and contestants.
In addition to the Friday night cruise, there will be cruises in the 12th floor lounge for women (Friday, 4:30-5:30) and transgendered (Saturday, 3:30-4:30) community members. There will be a men’s cruise at the Dallas Eagle on Saturday night after the contest.
